The Secretariat of Tourism held the Mexico Tourism Tianguis 2013 at the Exhibition Center in the city of Puebla, the first colonial destination in the thirty-eight- year history of this event.
The Tourism Tianguis is considered the main business platform for the tourism sector in Mexico, with the participation of over 600 purchasing companies from 41 countries.
The first traveling edition of the Tourism Tianguis was held in March 2012 in the shared Puerto Vallarta -Riviera Nayarit venue, attracting nearly 400,000 buyers and 7,500 attendees. The 2012 edition of the Tianguis yielded 32, 904 business appointments and an income of 140 million pesos.
At the Tourism Tianguis, all the destinations in the country and their various products were promoted: Cultural Tourism, Sun and Beach Tourism, Luxury Tourism, Nature and Adventure Tourism and Business Tourism.
