March 2013 ● Healthy Change

By Tamara Jacobi ● March 2013

tamari_1My mother often reminds me that, “the only permanent thing in life is change”. Though it’s not always what I want to hear, I know she’s right!  Life is a rollercoaster of challenge, opportunity, learning and adaptation. Unfortunately, many people struggle with the idea of change, afraid of leaving their comfort zone. Yet, knowing that change is an inevitable part of life, why not try to embrace it? Is leaving your comfort zone and trying something new such a bad thing?

Change can actually be wonderfully healthy! In fact, the natural world is in constant flux. Change is all around us as the seasons are shifting in San Pancho. The cool winter weather is passing and the new life of spring is taking over: new blossoms, butterflies and brilliant blue sky. As the seasons change, your body might naturally change as well. You might crave different, lighter foods. Now is a good time to consider treating your body to a spring cleanse (I can support you with this). The spring is an excellent time to clean the slate, start fresh and really listen to your body.

Stepping gently out of your comfort zone and embracing new, healthy change is actually where much of the magic of life happens. By opening yourself up to some uncertainty in life, you’re also giving yourself an opportunity to learn and grow.  When was the last time you voluntarily stepped out of your comfort zone? It might be time to be a little brave and try something new, even something that scares you. You might find that it’s actually a healthy treat to your body and your mind.

In the spirit of healthy change, I’d like to thank Kim King for all her hard work with this newsletter! Kim is moving forward and embracing a new chapter of her life. Thank you again Kim and we look forward to hearing where life takes you next!
