From December 14th. until January 18, 2013, Hector Ponce Jimenez will be presenting his paintings, sculptures and Artist Performances at Ambos Galeria located at 261 Basilio Badillo in Puerto Vallarta.
December 14th., December 28th., and January 11th. are Basilio Badillo Southside Shuffle evenings. Please visit us from 6–10 PM for the art and performances of Hector Ponce Jimenez, music, refreshments and conversation.
About The Artist
Hector Ponce Jimenez
Hector’s brilliant paintings are a mixture of ancient traditions and contemporary elements translating the everyday into the mystical and the playful. This gives Ponce the perfect way to transport to his paintings all the characters that inhabit his dreams. Ponce quests to touch upon popular myths and legends, in which the absence of cultural barriers allows indigenous Nahual people (a human being who has the power to magically turn him or herself into an animal form) to interact with varied mythical characters in the same space. In Ponce’s universe, Nahual and mythical people coexist in perfect harmony.
Ponce’s work does not respect estableshed norms, nor does he allow himself to be influenced by current trends. His art possesses its own distinctly contemporary message.
